Every first Monday*

ABOUT

Come Strut Your Stuff is a long-running open-floor poetry and acoustic music night which takes place on the *first Monday of every month at Liverpool's Egg Café.

There are no microphones involved, and the audience listens with enthusiasm, making this an ideal event for anyone wishing to perform for the first time.

It is an entirely 'open' floor (anything goes), although the performance of original work is highly encouraged. In order to fit in as many people as possible poets have a time limit of five minutes, and musicians two songs.

The evening is run by regular hosts musician Tony Kehoe (above) and poet Dave Harley (below).

If you want to perform then arrive early, claim a seat, then find whoever is taking the list and put your name down on the running order. Names are taken on a first-come, first-served basis - once the list is full (normally by 7.30pm, but sometimes as early as 7.20pm), it's full!

Oh, by the way, the event is totally and utterly free!

(*We move to the second Monday when it clashes with a bank holiday)

*Every first Monday except when Bank Holidays move it to the second Monday.
